Next year's iPhone 14 Pro models are expected to feature a hole-punch display. In the latest report, it is claimed that the notch on all iPhone 13 models will be replaced by a hole-punch screen design on both the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The notch display will remain on the entry-level iPhone 14 model. Also in 2022, it's expected that Apple will release three new Apple Watch models alongside the iPhone 14 range.
In contrast to the current generation iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which both have a notch, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to have a hole-punch display, according to The Elec, a Korean website.
Small circular cutouts are placed on top of the phone screen to house the selfie camera in a hole-punch display. According to a report, Apple plans to follow suit with its iPhone Pro models next year by adopting a design similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S21 flagship series. This is all based on very early reports, so take it with a grain of salt.
LTPO thin-film transistors (TFT) will be used in the OLED panels of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, according to the report. This year's iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models were the first to feature these panels, and they'll be found on the upcoming Pro models as well. According to reports, these LTPO OLED panels will be manufactured by Samsung Display and have a variable refresh rate of 120Hz.
With the release of three new Apple Watch models and a major upgrade to the AirPods Pro, Apple is expected to unveil four new iPhones. New Apple Watch SE and a rugged sports edition are expected to be among the three models. The new AirPods Pro are expected to have a completely new design and incorporate a new chip.
