Chelsea had the better of Manchester City in the Champions League final last season, and it wasn't the first time that Tuchel has managed to get the better of the Catalan.
"We've tried to study their game and see what they've done in the games since Tuchel has been there," Guardiola said. "Every match is a new opportunity to learn and to improve."
"We lacked precision in the final third," Pep said about the previous loss. "We lost second balls and they're excellent in transition.
"They're physical and their defensive structure is very solid. We played with courage and personality, but they were better on the counterattack."
Guardiola has tried a number of different setups, but nothing has worked against Tuchel's Chelsea so far; not a double pivot of Fernandinho and Rodri nor by packing out midfield and attack.
"I have the greatest respect for Guardiola," Tuchel said. "I'm a great admirer of his. The games against City have been 50:50. We got good results, but we've also suffered."
Should Tuchel come out on top again this weekend, he'll become the first coach to ever beat Guardiola in four consecutive matches, currently tied on three with Jurgen Klopp's 2018 record.
The German's 3-4-3 has become Pep's nightmare. He doesn't know how to overcome it, nor to get beyond Chelsea's superior physicality. Having added Romelu Lukaku to what was already a well-oiled machine, Tuchel's side are even more of a threat than they were before.
